You know, for the longest time, it never occurred to me to have more than one pair of glasses at a time. It never occurred to me to mix and match my frames with my outfits and moods. Seriously, it really never did until I posed an eyeglasses question to you all of you over on the Curvy Fashionista Facebook Page!

As I asked, many of you were in the same boat, but some of you had upward 10 pairs to play in and I was taken aback! I mean, it was like my eyes opened and I could see the varied possibilities! After I added these Michael Kors frames from Coastal.com to the mix, I wanted to play with more! I wanted frames in green, purple, black, and everything in between! I wanted some that fade into different colors and that had cool face fitting shapes!

Who would have thought that adding a few new pairs to the mix would do so much!

And honestly, I have to thank Coastal.com and share with you my latest additions! I am not to ten pairs yet, but I imagine over the next year, this will easily be achieved! Right? LOL. I am currently at four pairs now!

My two latest additions are by their house brand, Derek Cardigan, the Derek Cardigan 7005 in Lilac! I must say that with my complexion and new hair color, these frames look a bit darker than advertised, but I love it:

OBVIOUSLY I am digging the cat eye silhouette! Obviously.

BUT! In addition to these two additions, I got this interesting new reflection coating on my frames. I am a huge proponent for protecting the eyes, and Coastal.com hooked me up with KODAK BlueReflect lenses on my frames to protect the eyes! With the increase use of our smartphones and technology, many people do not realize the health effects that these digital screens have on us. It is funny because in some pictures, their reflection looks kind of purple, like my new glasses (center in pic below)! LOL

Manchmal ertappe ich mich dabei, dass ich gerne andere Leute über meine neugekau ften Sch uhe, Tasche oder Kleidung nach ihrer Meinung frage. Den ganzen Sommer lang war ich auf der Suche nach Sandalen, die nicht nach Mode die Beine länger machten und den Fuß schmaler wirken lassen, also solche, bei denen die Riemen nur im Bereich der Zehen vorkommen und der Rest des Fußes offen ist. Es ist mir gelungen auf dieses erträumte Modell erst vor zwei Wochen zu stoßen. Leider wird das Wetter von Tag zu Tag mieser und ich befürchte, dass ich mich an den Schuhen nicht mehr lange erfreuen kann. Ich wartete schon seit langem auf den Herbst, doch diese Schuhe haben es tatsächlich geschafft, dass es mir nichts ausmachen würde etwas länger auf die neue Jahreszeit zu warten. Ich denke, dass diese Einstellung ziemlich gesund ist. Anfangs war ich skeptisch, was ich bei mir absolut nicht mag. Ehrlich gesagt gab es mal eine Zeit wo ich gerne die Meinung der Anderer zur Kenntnis genommen habe und danach meine eigene vielleicht modifiziert habe. Doch als dieses Jahr Schuhe, die man früher nur zu Hause trug oder eventuell im Schwimmbad, jetzt das absolute Highlight sind und sie man sogar zu Anzügen oder eleganten Kleidern trägt, dann habe ich irgendwie das Interesse verloren andere nach ihrer Meinung zu fragen. Man braucht tatsächlich nur einen Fingerschnippen von irgendwo da oben und der Geschmack ändern sich um 180 Grad. Es hat so viele Jahre gedauert den Männern beizubringen, dass es das letzte ist Sandalen mit Socken zu tragen und jetzt ist ist es die Crème de la Crème weiße Socken mit Badelatschen zu tragen. Ähnlich ist es mit Sandalen, die ich früher nur in Krankenhäusern oder bei Verkäuferinnen gesehen habe, also da wo man auf Arbeit einfach viel Läuft. Keine Fashionista würde es sich erlauben nichtmal beim runtergehen zum Briefkasten darin ertappt zu werden, geschweige so auf die Straße zu gehen. Und wieder ein Fingerschnippen und die größten Modeikonen tragen diese Sandalen mit stolz auf der Straße. Und das nicht nur zur Je ans oder Shorts...

Also, was nutzt es andere, dessen Geschmack Zeitungen bestimmen, zu fragen, was sie von meinen Schuhen halten. Jetzt kann ich enorme Kritik sammeln und nächstes Jahr schnippt Jemand mit seinen Fingern und alle werden mich anflehen, die Adresse des Ladens zu verraten....

I jak mam wierzyć opiniom ludzi, którzy za sprawą kilku artykułów w gazecie potrafią zmienić swój gust tak drastycznie? Przecież w tym sezonie mogą mnie zrugać za tak niemodne buty, a za rok będą błagać mnie o adres sklepu, bo znowu ktoś pstryknął...

There are still moments, when I want to know others opinion about my new shoes, bag or clothes. The who le summer I've been looking for old-fashioned sandals, that means such ones, that make the leg longer and the foot appear more narrow. A model with strips only by the toes area and the rest of the foot uncovered. I found my dream-pair two weeks ago, because the weather is getting worse and worse I am not sure if I can enjoy them long. I was waiting for autumn for so long, but the shoes actually made me to want summer for a little bit longer. I'd use to listen to others opinion and modify my own. But this year everything has changed. This year shoes, that earlier everyone used to wear at home or at the swimming pool became so hot, that people started to wear them to suits or elegant dresses. Only one finger snap was enough to changed everyones taste for 180 degrees. Earlier a fashionista wouldn't go even to check the mail in that kind of shoes, now they are walking down the street proud wearing them and not only with shorts or jeans. It took so long to explain men, that they shouldn' t wear socks to sandals...

How can I trust others opinion, that is created by fashion magazines? My sandals may gather a lot of criticism now and next year, when someone snap with his fingers, the same people will bag me for reavealing the adress of the shop...

Black and white

Ich mochte schon immer, wenn ich von anderen Kleidung als Geschenk bekommen habe . Aber n icht welche, die ich mir selbst aussuche, sondern Überraschungen, die eine andere Modebewusste Fra mir aussucht. So war es mit dieser Bluse. Die (und viele andere wundervolle Sachen - nochmals tausendmal Danke!) habe ich von der lieben Conny, einer wunderschönen Frau, die den Plus Size Blog Zick und Zack führt. Noch nicht so lange her hat man mich in einem Interview gefragt ob es einen Blog gibt, der mich inspiriert. Ich bedaure zu tiefst, dass ich da Conny's Blog nicht erwähnt habe. Conny ist nämlich die mutigste Plus Size Bloggerin, die ich kenne. Mit ihrer Größe 56 hat sie kein Problem sich in Erotik Wäsche zu fotografieren und das auf dem Blog so zu zeigen als wäre das ein ganz normales Outfit. Conny gibt mir immer den Mut mehr Haut zu zeigen und sich nicht hinter zu großer Kleidung zu verstecken. Conny, ich finde es klasse, dass es dich und deinen Blog gibt!

Aber zurück zur Bluse. Ich würde sie mir nie im Leben kaufen, wegen dem hochgeschlossene Auss chnitt u nd dem Mangel an Ärmel. Doch als ich sie anprobierte dachte ich "wow. Irgendwie, finde ich mich super darin. Normalerweise sollte mir so ein Schnitt nicht stehen, doch aus irgendeinem Grund finde ich, dass er es tut. Ich Spiele mit dem Gedanken mir mehr dieser Art zu besorgen - vielleicht diesmal mit Ärmeln - für den Herbst und Winter.

Das Kimono habe ich für ca. 5€ bei Primark entdeckt. Ich weiß die führen dort keine Plus Size Abteilung, doch die Jacken und Kimonos sitzen oft sogar bei Gr. 52 sehr gut. Anfangs dachte ich, dass ich es kürzen werde doch nach dem Spaziergang, an dem die Fotos gemacht wurden, bin ich zu dem Entschluss gekommen es so zu lassen, wie es ist.

Zawsze lubiłam dostawać w prezencie ubrania. Oczywiście nie takie, które sobie sama wybiorę, tylko niespodzianki, które są wybrane przez inną, znającą się n a modzie , kobietę. Tak było z tą bluzką (i z wieloma innymi), które dostałam od Conny, przepięknej kobiety, która prowadzi niemieckiego bloga plus size o nazwie Zick und Zack. Niedawno w pewnym wywiadzie zapytano mnie, jakie blogi mnie inspirują. Żałuję, że nie wymieniłam wtedy bloga Conny. Conny jest najodważniejszą kobietą plus size, jaką znam. Nosi rozmiar 56 i na swoim blogu pokazuje swoje zdjęcia nawet w bieliźnie erotycznej z takim luzem, jakby pokazywała najzwyklejszy zestaw na świecie. Conny dodaje mi zawsze odwagi, gdy mam opory pokazać więcej ciała i by nie chować się za przydużymi ubraniami :)

Wracając do bluzki. Przyznam, że w życiu bym takiej nie kupiła - odstraszyło by mnie wysokie zapięcie i brak rękawów. Lecz, gdy ją przymierzyłam - pomyślałam "wow". Całkiem nieźle!!! Zaczęłam się zastanawiać, czy nie sprawić sobie podobnej bluzki, tym razem z rękawami, na jesień i zimę :)

Narzutkę zdobyłam w Primark u za jak ieś 5€. Nie ma tam działu z dużymi rozmiarami, ale niektóre kurtki i narzutki całkiem nieźle leżą nawet, gdy się nosi rozmiar 52. Początkowo chciałam ją skrócić, lecz po spacerze, podczas którego powstały te fotki, stwierdziłam, że jednak zostawię ją taką, jaka jest.

I always liked to became clothes as a gift. Of course not those I chose by myself, but pieces from another woman that loves fashion. Like it was the case with this blouse (ans much more other things) I got from Conny. Conny is a beautiful woman that writes the German plus size blog named Zick und Zack. A few weeks ago, I was asked in an interview what my favourites blogs are. I regret (very, very much) I didn't mention Conny. She is wearing size 56 and posts her pictures even in erotic underwear so cool, as she would wear a simple outfit. She gives me the courage to show mor e skin and not to hide behind oversized clothes. Thank you Conny for being so awesome!

Now back to the blouse - to say the truth I would never buy something like that. I always was scared of pieces with a hight neckline and without sleeves. But after trying that on I thought "wow". I liked what I saw and now I am thinking about buying another piece like this, but with sleeves for fall and winter.

I found the kimono at Primark for about 5€. Of course Primark doesn't have a plus size section but some kimonos and jackets fits to a size 52 too. Firstly I thought to shorten the kimono, but after a walk (when the pics were shot) I decided to leave it how it is.

It's been some time since I enrolled myself into a consumer workshop. I remember how much fun it is just to chillax and enjoy a workshop without worrying about taking every detail in thought and pictures from every corner. I did take pictures still but that's just for fun. So I was lucky enough to be able to join Sephora's GlamGlow FlashMud Workshop for Sephora Black Card members today. My session was at 3pm - 5pm and there was a morning se ssion at 11am - 1pm at Chinoz by the Park, KLCC. Here's some pictures of the fun workshop today.

They should do this more often. This workshop was informative and fun, not too serious or filled with scientific blabber which I don't need to hear. The main objective of the workshop was to introduce the launch of GlamGlow's latest mask called FlashMud. Each table had all the collection under GlamGlow ready for us to try. Impressed with GlamGlow's products. Me and my bff Wing bought the cleanser and masks (YouthMud & FlashMud RM255 each) after the workshop at Sephora, KLCC. We wanted to buy the Talika energy boosters as well but for the price of nearly RM600 a pop, we couldn't bring ourselves to pay even with a 10% discount. We rather spend our money buying many products. As with all consumer workshops, there's always a promotion at the end. For every purchase of RM500, we could get a RM50 rebate. Go deep into the heart of Young Hollywood and you will find Vijat Mohindra as one of the most sought after photographers on the scene. Known for his edgy and playful celebrity portraits  and amazing editorial work, Vijat’s work has been described as “Neo-Pop and Hyper-Modern.”

Most notably, Vijat is breaking barriers with his work that features plus-size women and transgender people such as Sharon Gualt and Amazon Ashley! He should come with a caution sign, because he will  suck you into his world with his boyish charm and mad skillz.

Vijat took time out of his crazy hectic schedule to talk with us! Are you excited to learn more about the photographer who has shot the likes of Miley, Nikki Minaj, and Kim Kardashian?

What inspired you to become a photographer?

I fell in love with photography when I was really really young. I have always had an appreciation for art. When I was younger, I remember that my Mom did a series of black and white photographs and I was so in love with them, that they inspired me to play with the camera!  My mom saw that I took an interest to the camera and she got me my very own! From the first flash I loved shooting and I would shoot everything and anyone!

I went to Art Center College of Design, and this is when I started thinking, “What am I going to do with my life?” This is when I really started focusing and photography became my path.

What Photographer has influenced you the most? 

There are 3 who have been a major influence! David LaChapelle, Mert and Marcus, and Miles Aldridge!  With David LaChapelle, I have looked up to him since I was  young.  I just love the little worlds he creates, these real believable characters with his photography. Oh and of course, he has photographed every famous celeb ever.

How would you describe your signature style of photography?

My photography is allot of color, I do mostly color photography and love black and white photography as well, but I’m soooo into Color.

Where do you draw your inspiration for a shoot from?

Everything around me… online, anything I can find really!

Do you prefer indoor shoots at your studio or outdoor location shoots?

I prefer any work-related jobs at my studio because I have all my set equipment, lighting, old school movie lights, basically every kind of light you want to do a shoot with, I can do at my studio! But I do love on location shoots for the natural lighting.

What/who is/are your favorite subjects to work with?

Transgender models are my number one favorite type of people to shoot, like Amanda Lepore and Amazon Ashley.

What is your favorite genre to photograph?

I have my top two favorite genres to shoot, which are Plus-size and Transgender. I also LOVE the plus size form. With plus size women and photography, it is art! And plus size art, it’s beautiful. I also dream of shooting more transgender people for everything.

Who is your favorite Plus Size beauty you have photographed?

Sharon Gault who as you know is a muse to David La Chapelle.  She is a 90s art icon. She has so much confidence and is really fun to shoot with!

Who is your favorite plus size subject right now?

Brande by the way, she does nails in Hollywood she is amazing! Love her!

 

Who is your Dream Plus Size Celebrity or Model you would like to Shoot?

Beth Ditto from the band Gossip.  I would love to shoot her,  She is EVERYTHING! She is so talented and it would be amazing to work with her. I love her band.

 

What have you been up to? Do you have any cool new projects for us too look at ?

The Other Pictures is my newest project! It’s using a paparazzi flash for capturing everyday items and elevating the everyday item to celebrity status, turning it into pop culture.
