Pinterest Inspired ~ All Black Everything

HTML email (plussizebabydolldress.blogspot.com)Have you ever purchased something and later thought to yourself, "what was I thinking??!!!"

A closer look

My daughter, a self confessed Pinterest addict, recently emailed me this pin with the caption ~ You have something similar in your closet.

I would have never thought to pair this piece with my lace pencil skirt; but it was a perfect ensemble for date night this past weekend. I love it when I can pull pieces directly from my wardrobe and style it to represent my aesthetic.

Do you like to replicate an entire look or add your own flair to it? BTW, I am always looking for inspiration and new boards to follow. If you are on Pinterest, feel free to leave your profile name in the comment section or click the Pinterest link below.

Until next time, Stay Fab!

Mountain Street Chic

HTML email (plussizebabydolldress.blogspot.com)Each year my daughter and I accompany my husband on a business trip to Breckenridge, a mountain town about two hours away from Denver.  While he attends his conferences, we normally enjoy days of lounging around the pool, sightseeing, hiking, shopping, and dining.  I consider the weather in Breck to be absolutely perfect because its always sunny with zero humidity and in the summer the temperature never rises above 75 degrees. In addition to the glorious weather, Breck is a picturesque place overlooking gorgeous mountain views with a raging river that runs straight through the town.

One of my favorite pastimes is to stroll down Main street in downtown Breckenridge and visit the quaint shops and restaurants. BTW, if by chance you ever visit Breckenridge, The Lost Cajun's lobster bisque and crawfish etoufee is DEVINE!

For a day of sightseeing and shopping I wanted something comfy, casual, and chic so I hit the pavement in boyfriend jeans and a tribal print peplum blouse.

Not sure what I was doing in this shot, but sometimes random poses make the best pictures!

Until next time, Stay Fab!

30Plusstyle:The Swim Suit Edition

HTML email (plussizebabydolldress.blogspot.com)My sentiments about 30plusstyle's decision to do a swimsuit post zoomed to excitement the moment I tried on this one piece swimsuit from Lane Bryant.  I was drawn to the retro feel of this bathing suit and when I tried it on, was immediately SOLD!!

In the past, my approach to swimwear was more practical than stylish. I never understood why women paid so much for something to simply swim in.
However, this challenge, this bathing suit... has made me reconsider my views. I can always count on the 30plusstyle collaboration for making me step outside my normal. The right bathing suit can make you feel glamorous, sexy, and sophisticated.

Swimsuit/Lane Bryant| Cover Up (old)| Sunnies /Jessica Simpson

I purchased this suit at 30% off and it is well deserving of the 4.8 out of 5 stars it received.  I love the built in molded cups which offers support, the shirred sides, and my absolutely favorite feature, the versatility of the straps which can be worn as either halter or tank style (shown in pictures). The downfall to this suit is that the only way to take a bathroom break is to take it off.  Uggh...so refrain from drinking lots of the liquid while at the beach. :)

What factor drives your swimwear purchases, cost, practicality, style, or all?

Lastly, if you are self conscious about wearing a swimsuit, remember that everyBODY has a swimsuit body. Until next time, Stay Fab!

Monolague Mondays~Aging Gracefully

HTML email (plussizebabydolldress.blogspot.com)
I love the month of May because flowers are in full bloom, it's the start of the big floppy straw hat & sundress season, outdoor dining, Mother's Day, and it's my birth month.  Although, I love the celebration of me (I take my birthday very seriously), the last couple of years, I have been struggling with getting older!

Yes, I know to see another birthday is a blessing and I certainly know that to stop aging would mean you are no longer living, but I have not been aging gracefully. My dark circles seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, but as I was viewing some pictures of myself, I realized that I had owned them for about two years.  Shortly after noticing my dark circles, I began to notice other things like wrinkles, chin hairs, and skin that don't shoot back as promptly as it use to.

Kiyonna Gives: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

HTML email (plussizebabydolldress.blogspot.com)

I’ve gotten to work with Kiyonna many times over the last year, but, when they told me about their campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I was really excited to share with you what they are doing and what you can do to participate in raising awareness and money for a breast cancer foundation of Kiyonna’s choice. One in 1,000 men and 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and Kiyonna, with the help of you, wants to spread the word and help to find a cure.

For the entire month of October, Kiyonna is selling a Pretty in Pink option of their Sunset Stroll Bellini where 100% of their proceeds (75% of wholesale sales) go to an accredited breast cancer foundation. Along with the bellini proceeds, Kiyonna wants to spread the word by using the hashtags #ShowYourPink and #KiyonnaGives. Their goal is to have women across the country show their pink, whether it be their bellini or their other favorite pink fashion piece on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.  At the end of the month Kiyonna will research the hashtag and donate $1 for every participating #ShowYourPink that includes #KiyonnaGives.

I’ve taken some pictures with Kiyonna’s Pretty in Pink Sunset Stroll Bellini, and I’ll be tagging my photos/tweets and retweeting/reposting those of you I see in my feed participating in the hashtags. I hope you will join me in raising money and awareness for this cause!

I'm Sorry I Can't - Don't Hate Me!

HTML email (plussizebabydolldress.blogspot.com)
With such a great summer here in Ireland, we've had plenty of quality time to spend with our bare legs. We've beached together, gone out together, even had seaweed baths together but alas it is now time to prepare to break up with your pins this season. No, it's not your orange peel above the knee, I still love you, it's just the weather, I'm sorry, I can't Don't Hate Me!
Me and sis in law Vicki with our legs in happier times!
Even gave them a seaweed bath.
While it was nice to have some can-can fun over the spring summer season, there is something comforting about re-introducing black tights into our wardrobe again. With that in mind, let's run down the top five things about our beloved black tights. (Sorry legs!)

1. 1 shade, all over!
No matter what your skin colour or complexion, everyone has the patchy part around the knees, the tan lines around the thighs not to mention thread veins! Black tights give a consistent colour from hip to toe!
Wolford Control Tops €49.99
2. Control top
Your silhouette is jumping for joy now that you have your black tights shape wear back in action. Dresses and skirts will slide on snug and your shape will be looking HAWT.

3. The dreaded "chaffauge"
Now that we're off the beach and back in our tights no longer will we fear the rubbing of our thighs in the heat! It happens skinny people too apparently!
There we are now, in our tights!
And leggings for Eimear!
4. No more tan!
If you are a fake tan user, you'll be delighted to hang up your mit and stick to the arms and boob area this winter season, your tights have you covered, literally.
Wolford Winters, €39.99
5. The short dress
For those of us who kept our modesty intact this summer, don't delay in rooting your short skirts and dresses from the back of the closet, a pair of black tights will eliminate any butt check faux pas!

We all know you can get the 2euro pairs in Penneys, but to ease your way back into your tights, invest in a great pair of Wolfords. They will last you years.

So with at least 5 reasons to get your black tights back on, break up with your bare lags and run away with the dernier of your choice!
