Cos is certainly the buzz word on the Dublin high street this week with the opening of its plush new store on Exchequer Street. Even though Iâve heard of Cos and visited their online store numerous times, this week was the first of my Cos purchases. So why was I so reluctant to hop on the bandwagon until now?
Be Cos Be Cos Be Cos Be Cos.......
I was one of the of the sceptical gang. With only their website to go on, Cos seems unwelcoming to plus sizers. Their expressionless models are thin and angular with not even a âsmiseâ in sight. Tyra would NOT be impressed. As a result, this plus â" sizer was more âsoz-babesâ than âCos â"babesâ.
So as a budding âlady who launchesâ I was headed straight for the red carpet in Dublinâs City center for the opening of the infamous Cos Store, and what awaited me was beyond my wildest dreams, but still within my credit card limit!
The launch itself was filled with plenty of Dublinâs âscenstersâ but everyday girls like me were also in the mix. I was really impressed with their staff who were not only kitted out in the finest of Cos gear, but they were of all shapes and sizes, so you could really imagine yourself in the clothes.

Cos has a range of free sized dresses and tops that are not only built for the long and lean, but perfect on curves as well. It doesnât adhere to fashion trends but rather creates its own, so as a result its shelves are full of âkey piecesâ that will have a place in your wardrobe for seasons to come.
Size â" wise, their free sized items range from XS â" L, and even if youâre a little bit plus, try on â" as you may find youâre only a medium. For more tailored pieces, their sizes are tight, so prepare to go a size up, itâs worth it.
On the night I purchased.....
Tank Top, â¬19 |
Asymmetrical Collar Dress, â¬125 |
Box Pleat Skirt (in yellow!), â¬69 |
Jersey Sleeved Top, â¬29 |
Elayne and Erin got their Cos on! |
Maybe it was the glamorous staff, the Scandinavian style shop fittings or even the 3 + glasses of prosecco that were had.... but I have definitely drank the coolade and Cos is now a firm favourite. Treat yourself 'Cos you're worth it!
