TGIF all!

In an effort to move outside my comfort zone, I’m tackling the jumpsuit. Yes, the jumpsuit.  I’ve seen countless PS bloggers looking amazing in one but I never considered it for me. Why? Because I’m still very self conscious about my the size of my butt.  I guess that’s why I’m such a huge fan of midi skirts. They cover my booty and draw attention away from it.  Wearing a jumpsuit would do the complete opposite but sometimes you just gotta let it go!  Because this is my first jumpsuit, I kept it safe and went with this black and white printed one from  Lane Bryant.  When I tried it on, I  was surprised how good my booty  looked  in this jumpsuit!   And yes, I’m wearing shapewear underneath  to minimize my booty jiggle and give me a smoother appearance.

Now that I’ve gotten over the jumpsuit hump, I’m looking forward to crossing more items off my list!

Directions to Building from Parking Deck – (2 blocks)

• Exit the G Deck parking structure on bottom floor onto Collins Street (You will be under the Courtland St Bridge)
• Walk 1 block straight down Collins st  until you reach the red light at the corner of Collins and Decatur st.
• Continue Straight on Collins crossing Decatur st (at the light) for one more block until it dead ends
• On your right side is a pathway  to follow that connects you to University Student Center Building
• Enter the doors of the University Student Center building and Registration will be located just outside of the Speaker’s Auditorium
• If you get lost ask for directions to the Student Center ( the Auditorium is on the lobby level)

TGIF all!

This past Monday I attended the launch of  Lane Bryant’s  latest Cacique collection.  Now let me tell ya, this wasn’t your run of the mill launch (Salt N Pepa performed!)!   This  was a Lane Bryant takeover of NYC!  Their I’m No Angel hashtag  was a loud declaration that ALL bodies are sexy, not unrealistic standards that are promoted in our society.  Their campaign (in my opinion) is not throwing shade at at Victoria’s Secret but directly confronting the skewered  notion that only certain bodies are beautiful. So many women  (including myself) have allowed these beliefs  to diminish our self-esteem and confidence.  Lane Bryant’s message of body acceptance and diversity is something I completely embrace.  Spending the day driving around NYC on a double decker bus plastered with plus size bodies on all sides was so empowering.  As the bus made itself around the city, people literally stopped in their tracks   (especially the men! LOL) and guess what?!  New Yorkers showed us so much love! Everything (including the weather) came together to make it one of best experiences of my blogging career.

So let me say this…you are BEAUTIFUL, you are SEXY and you are FABULOUS exactly the way you are! Say it loud, say it proud…I’M NO ANGEL!

The wonderfully stylish Pepper from Pretty Plus Pep is guest posting today about ways of adding pops of color to your Spring wardrobe.  Like me, Pepper loves color so I hope you enjoy!

Are you kinda obsessed of these monochromatic theme of the season like me? I’m finding myself swimming in a closet of black and white and searching for a way to break free. Okay maybe I am little too over dramatic on that last part, but honestly….I need to wake up my wardrobe with some color. A simple pop of color can change everything in your look and in some cases your attitude. You can’t say these looks don’t put a smile on your face.

For Work, Add a bright colored blazer to a simple sheath dress.

The jumpsuit is the perfect go to item, but it can get a little stale. Have a little fun with it by adding a colorful statement necklace, a fun handbag and bright sandal.

So remember what I said about my monochromatic life….This is exactly how I would break up the black and white. Use accessories to add punches of color to your look. Check the blue face watch…Fun… Right?!

Of course a POP OF COLOR can be the in one item like this FUN fit and flare dress. The bright color blocking of the red and fuchsia just puts a smile on my face. Add some leopard pumps with colorful spots and take over the room.

My final and favorite color pop look is this super, sweet, bubble gum pink midi look. A colorful skirt is your wardrobe’s best friend. This look can be paired with any color of the rainbow and be simply perfect.

I know adding color to your wardrobe can sometimes be out of the comfort zone but a little color can go a long way. Play with it and see.

You ladies know I love my spring coats, so you know I had to do a round up.  I think my number one pick is that chartreuse coat from Simplybe.  It's kind of mouth watering.  Spring coats are an great way to have one item in you closet that will give every outfit that expensive look through those breezy spring months.  I'm also including a guide to match these coat s with b ody types.  Disclaimer - I say where what you love and that could mean flattering or not, but for those that want the information I am including it.
